When a booking goes wrong

Well after our detour to Koh Lanta we were ready to go north again. We booked a night in Krabi because the bus leaves at 9am and there is no way to make it from Koh Lanta in the morning.

We found a nice hotel on the booking site and jumped in the car. It was a confused trip 😂 the driver picked up and kicked out people on the way, a family that he said had paid to little seats were just dropped of and told to take a later ride. Afterward we think it was because he had some friends that needed a ride instead🤔. Well we finally made it to Krabi, then he told us he wanted some extra money to drive us to the hotel or he would drop us of in the center. Fortunately our hotel had wrote the new hotel as final destination on the ticket so no money for him and we wore dropped of at the new place. But there were no one there😳

At the first glance it looked really nice but we began feeling suspicious when we entered the reception and there were no living person in sight. There was in fact a few cats and some goose walking around but nothing more. It looked like an abounded western town. The pool was nice and tidy though. After awhile a car drove up, it was the manager, she showed us the room and told us that we were the only one staying, when did we have to go to Koh Samui? We said that we were staying for two nights and then she offered us to go and stay in here other hotel at Railay beach instead. We took the offer!

Backpacks and beers

We got a lift with the longtail boat delivering beers and arrived at a cozy hotel at the beach. This most be one of the bests wrongs on our trip so far. The place were really cozy and the beach amazing. The walk to the beach was along a stunning cave and there was almost no people on the beach.

In Thailand all the hotel doors are locked by a button that you press on the inside of the door. Except this hotel. You just shut the door and it’s locked. Well our last night, quite late , we sat at the veranda and just got in to take some water and without thinking shut the door. Ops it’s looked! Well let’s se if someone is still awake at the reception😂 Henrik went down and I tried to figure out a plan B. Fortunately we had some beer cans on the porch. I can tell you that it takes approximately 3 seconds to open a door with it😳😂 so we were in again. And the guy from the hotel learned something new !

A backup door opener

Well we’ll a little different trip when things don’t go as planned but still works out very well. The time I’m Railay Beach is over and the next stop is Koh Samui.
