Relaxing with friends and a trip to Kanchanaburi

Well it’s been awhile The internet has ent been the best and we travelled around some. After we made it to Bangkok we took a bus down to Rayong for a stop over. It was a boring city with not much to do but we just needed a day after our train trip.

After a good night sleep we were ready to continue🙏 we took a taxi to visit some friends from Sweden who has a house here close to Laem Mae Phim beach. It was some wonderful days. We had a scooter and just drove around a looked at different places. The Forrest roads was exiting and you could se some of the “real” Thailand and some snakes 😂 It was also fun to play Yatzy with someone else for a change. Thanks so much for you’re hospitality 🙏 hope to see you soon again🤞.

After this we went along to Kanchanaburi. We took the by from Rayong and it was only about 500 bath (150 Skr) for both of us all the way. It’s really cheap to go around by bus and there’s an god app to book all trips , 12go. In Kanchanaburi we booked a come station on River Kwai. We had our room on the water and could sit and watch the boats and birds on the porch. Nice and really relaxing. We could if we wanted also bath from the porch but to be honest the water wasn’t so inviting and there were a LOT of big fish.

We took a day trip to see some of the memorial’s around Second World War and the places that prisoners were held by Japanese army and had to build the railway to Burma. I wasn’t so aware about this part of the WW2. We visited the Hell fire pass, The bridge over River Kwai some museums and the cemetery. Its was around same time that we got the information that Russia has invaded Ukrain. It’s so horrible to see history repeats. Nobody should have to experience war.

We also found the most amazing restaurant. We lived in the middle of NOWHERE and sat on the porch to tired to take a Tuk-Tuk in to town and just search google for restaurants nearby. It wasn’t many 😂 but we found one 8 minutes walk away that had really good review’s. We decided to try it. Me bar and restaurant! WHAT A PLACE 👊 The food and service was beyond expectation it was first class all over. I would highly recommend it even if you don’t live nearby. The Tuk-Tuk from town is only 40 bath and the food is great.
