After the energy of Ubud and the coast, we craved something quieter – something wilder. That’s what led us to Menjangan, a nature reserve in northwest Bali, where we spent two unforgettable nights at NusaBay Menjangan. Tucked inside the West Bali National Park, this place felt like a hidden paradise. But dont forget anything on the porch for the night. The monkeys will have a blast.
🏝 Staying at NusaBay Menjangan
NusaBay is one of the few accommodations located inside the national park, and it shows. Our bungalow faced the sea, with nothing but trees, wildlife, and ocean between us and the horizon. We arrived by boat – already an adventure in itself – and were greeted by friendly staff and the sounds of nature all around us.

🦌 Living with Wildlife
From the moment we stepped onto the island, we were surrounded by wildlife. We spotted deer on the beach, monkeys in the trees, and tropical birds gliding through the sky. The hotel is designed to exist in harmony with the environment, so it really felt like we were guests in nature’s home – not the other way around.
🌊 Magical Snorkeling Moments
A highlight of our stay was snorkeling around Menjangan Island, just a short boat ride away. The water was crystal clear, and the coral reefs were full of color and life – we saw clownfish, parrotfish, and even a turtle. The experience was peaceful and unspoiled, like diving into a natural aquarium.
🌅 Calm, Quiet, and Completely Different
What made NusaBay Menjangan so special was its stillness. No traffic, no nightlife, no noise – just the sounds of the forest, the waves, and the occasional deer passing by. The sunsets were magical, the food was fresh and local, and we left feeling more rested and grounded than we had in weeks.
In summary:
Our two nights at NusaBay Menjangan gave us a totally different side of Bali – one that’s quiet, wild, and full of natural wonder. If you’re looking for a place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and wake up to the sound of the jungle, this is your place.
