Exploring Bartolome Island: A Volcanic Paradise

We woke up to the stunning sight of Bartolome Island, famous for its otherworldly volcanic landscapes and the iconic Pinnacle Rock. A morning hike to the summit rewarded us with breathtaking panoramic views of the island’s golden beaches and lava formations. The contrasting blues of the ocean against the black volcanic terrain created a mesmerizing scene.

Later, we explored Sullivan Bay on Santiago Island, where the hardened lava flows made us feel as if we were walking on the surface of the moon. The patterns and textures of the lava were incredible, revealing the power of past volcanic eruptions. In the afternoon, we cooled off with a snorkeling session, swimming alongside playful sea lions, graceful sea turtles, and vibrant fish. It was a day filled with nature’s wonders, leaving us in awe of the Galapagos’ raw beauty.
