Ok, new year and I have promised myself to dare. Those who know me know that I am incredibly afraid of heights, so why not try zipping in the jungle. It’s not only heights that scare me but also spiders so I thought it would be a perfect combination.
The day started with us being picked up at the hotel and going to Hanuman World Phuket. A place in the jungle with Ziplines, Rollercoster and Skywalks. We were only a small group of five people. Just perfect. In our group was a little girl who was extremely brave. I felt somewhere here that if she dares, I should ….. Her father was on my side, though. We were very well received and had a safety briefing that felt safe. Now we were ready to hit the skys.
We had of course chosen the large package with 32 platforms and the longest journey was 400 meters. It may not look loud but it was. You walked in spiral stairs and along suspension bridges in the trees, constantly strapped but still. They also went ”downhill” between platforms. The first trip was extremely unpleasant but then it got better and I have to say that it was an incredibly cool experience. I can warmly recommend trying, even for you who are afraid of heights. Henrik did not think it was a big deal at all but that it was cool.
After the rides in Ziplines, it was time for the roller coaster. It was not at all like a traditional roller coaster but you were strapped in a harness and then you had a rail over your head that you were strapped in. The journey was breathtaking as you swung back and forth over the treetops completely free.
Finally, we went for a walk on the Skywalk. All of a sudden, even though it was long and high up, it felt like a walk in the park. I could walk and enjoy the view and did not find it at all uncomfortable to be several meters up. Who knows, there may be more excursions swung in a harness high in the air.
