A day in the ravine. A few years ago we tested river rafting in Bali and planned to do it again now. It is a wonderful experience and if you are in Bali, give it a try! It is not as strong a river as you see on some clips, so I think it suits everyone. The companies that run are very good. It is powerful to sit in a ravine and see nature in front of you. You go past several meters of carvings and have a spectacle view around you to hole trip.
We were picked up at 8 in the morning and drove to BintangBaliRafting outside Ubud. After a tour, we were driven to the starting point. Then it was just to start hiking. If you are going to go on the river down in a ravine you have to get down into the ravine (not to mention up then) I think it is about 250 steps, I did not count it but our guide said it. We were lucky enough to have our own boat. It is the advantage right now that there are not so many tourists. You can stop and take a shower in a waterfall, luckily you have a helmet as the water is really strong. The whole trip takes about 2 hours with a liquid stop in the middle of the river, of course they sell Bintang. After the tour, when you have trodden the 250 steps up, you are invited to lunch witch is well planned after some water adventure
Since we were in the vicinity, we took the opportunity to stay at a playground for adults in the rice fields. Here you can try Luwark coffe (one off the most expensive coffees in the world made from animals poo kind of) and swing over the heights. It’s incredibly beautiful. For me who is afraid of heights, the glass platform was a bit challenging, I always think the glass will break. Since we tested the swings before, we instead took the opportunity to take a bike ride across the fields. It was a bit like that, take the swing instead. Again, a wonderful day with fantastic experiences in Bali. You are struck by how much here is to be experienced in a small area.
